Over 10 years of experience in the field of education, first as a special education teacher. Followed by a role as an instructional designer/educational technologist at the University of Richmond. Currently, in the role of Academic Communication and Technology Specialist at the University of Toronto's Centre for Teaching and Learning on the Scarborough campus.
Key examples include:
Instruction: Multi Level Excel workshop for faculty and staff.
Developed the learning plan based on software functionality and skills relevant to each constituency. Leveraged a modular approach, combining in-class and computer-based training, to accommodate different levels of knowledge and job needs. Utilized both formative and comprehensive evaluations to improve the efficiency of the course. Received positive feedback from participants and the course continues to be in high demand.
Project Management: Looking at Prints.
Brought together and led a diverse team to create a website showcasing the print making process. Team was composed of faculty, museum staff, and students. Leveraged process expertise from faculty and knowledge of how to present collections from the museum staff to create the overall design. Coordinated students who produced the video and flash content.
Technical support: Blackboard, WebCT, Madison Digital Image Database, Wordpress MU, Drupal, Blojsom, MediaWiki and TWiki.
